Jason Fujinaka

Growing up I was always a pretty shy guy. Radio helped me break out of my shell. It taught me so much about communication. It gave me a career.

I got my start in radio right here on Kauai’s FM97 in 1993 as a student intern. I’ve worked every on-air shift we’ve had and loved doing it. Got to meet and talk with great people through the years. Worked on many great projects.

Then, in 2016, I decided to “retire” from the airwaves in search of a “real job”. I’ve worked at various places and made a living, started a family, got into coaching sports. Lived. But something seemed out of place. Everywhere I’d go, people would talk to be about radio. I started to reminisce. Started missing radio. Then one day, the Pacific Media Group called and offered me a spot, back on FM97. The rest is history.

Now, I have the privilege to be on the Morning Show….again! Same time, same station! I enjoy being on air, playing your favorites of yesterday and today. I enjoy keeping you informed with informative stories and island events. Most of all, I enjoy radio. See you on the air!
